Researcher. Xinquan Yang, Yazhouwan Seed Lab
Director of Planning and Development Department, Yazhouwan Seed Laboratory, Hainan Province. He was a delegate of Hainan Province to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He has served as Deputy Director and Director of the Life Sciences Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Vice President of Tarim University and Director of the Scientific Research Department of Guangzhou University. He is the executive director of the Chinese Food Society, the executive deputy director of the Food Biotechnology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Biological Engineering, a member of the Agricultural Products Processing Standards Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the deputy editor-in-chief of the Chinese Science Foundation and a member of the editorial board of the Chinese Journal of Food. He mainly conducts research on food safety and quality testing, research on food nutrient composition and function, and research on the development and utilization of new food resources, with South China's special food resources as the research object. He has received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Guangzhou Key R&D Project. He has published more than 50 papers as first and corresponding author, mainly in Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, International Journal of Biological Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Food Science & Nutrition, Journal of Food Engineering, Food Science, Chinese Journal of Food and other mainstream food journals.
Prof. Zhigang Liu, Northwest A&F University
Prof. Liu's research interests are in the area of functional food ingredients and human health, including the discovery of probiotics for intestinal benefit, with his PhD training at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy (2013-2015). He was selected as a "Young Changjiang Scholar" (food nutrition and health position) by the Ministry of Education of China, a "Humboldt Scholar" in Germany, a "Down Cornell-China Scholar" in the United States, and a "Young Talent Trustee" in Shaanxi Province. He was a visiting professor at Cornell University (2019-2021) and is currently the deputy head of the Department of Food Nutrition at Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, the German Institute for Human Nutrition (Deutsches Institut für Ernährungsforschung Potsdam- Rehbrücke, DIfE), Executive Editor-in-Chief of Food Biotechnology International and Associate Editor of Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience. In the past 5 years, he has published in Chinese Journal of Food Science, Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications, Redox Biology, Molecular Nutrition & Food Research, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, etc. In the past 5 years, he has published 44 articles as the first or corresponding author in domestic and international academic journals in the field of nutrition and synthesis, and has co-edited 2 monographs and been granted 4 national invention patents. The research content has been noticed and cited by international peer scholars, cited more than 2,300 times by international top journals such as Nature Medicine, with an H-index of 29. Prof. Zhen Gu, Zhejiang University
Professor of Zhejiang University, Dean of School of Pharmacy, Director of Jinhua Research Institute of Zhejiang University, "Changjiang Scholar" of Ministry of Education, expert of "Kunpeng Action" of Zhejiang Province, Director of Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Advanced Drug Delivery System, Chief of National Key R&D Program. He is the Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program. He received his undergraduate and master's degrees in chemistry and polymer science and engineering from Nanjing University, and his PhD in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2010 under the supervision of Professor Yi Tang. He taught at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine/NC State University College of Engineering Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy from 2012-2018, where he led the discipline of pharmacy engineering and created the "Innovation in Translation Degree" to promote the development of talents for biomedical industrialisation He was awarded the Jackson Family Distinguished Chair Professor in 2018 and was a Full Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and Director of the Biotechnology/Biomedical and Engineering Training Center at UCLA from 2018-2020. he was appointed full-time at Zhejiang University in September 2020.
His research interests include biomolecular (protein/nucleic acid) drug delivery systems, physiologically responsive materials, immunotherapeutic agents, and cellular therapeutic strategies. He has published more than 200 academic papers and granted more than 150 corporate patents. Prof. Pengjin, Nanjing Agricultural University
Doctor., Professor, School of Food Science and Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, and supervisor of doctoral students. Associate researcher, Xingju Zhang, BGI
He graduated from the School of Life Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University in 2011 with a PhD in Science. His main research interests include spatio-temporal transcriptomics, single cell genomics and tumour immune escape. He has hosted 2 national, 1 provincial and 1 municipal research funds: 19 sci publications, including 7 as first author.
Associate researcher Yongsheng Chen, Jinan University
Yongsheng Chen is an associate researcher and master's supervisor at Jinan University, a postdoctoral fellow at Rutgers University, USA, and a green channel introduction talent at Jinan University. He focuses on the extraction, isolation and purification, and bioactivity of phytochemicals from Chinese specialty plants. A prof. Jie Zheng, Jinan University
She is an associate researcher in the Department of Food Science and Engineering of Jinan University, a doctoral supervisor, a "Young Top Talent" of the Pearl River Talents Programme, and one of the 100 post-doctoral innovators in Guangdong Province. She is also a Guangdong Provincial Rural Science and Technology Commissioner. She received her PhD degree from the University of Turku, Finland in October 2013 and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Turku, Finland from 2013 to 2016.
